Team roles come with tailored permissions, granting staff the access they need while safeguarding community management and voting events. Selecting the appropriate role for your team member is important so they have the right permissions to do their jobs effectively. A single team member can hold multiple roles, but each role requires a separate invitation. (See more information on managing team members here.)

Team roles and their individual permissions
Administrator
The Administrator role has the most permissions for an individual organization. They can control all organization and member related settings, and some voting specific settings. It is the only role that can manage and invite new team members.
This role is best used by organization and community administration staff.
- Voting: Can view an organizations voting events
- Voting: Can view a single voting event for which they are assigned to
- Voting: Can create a voting event
- Voting: Can update a voting event's details if event is not published
- Voting: Can delete an event issue if event is not published
- Voting: Export voters list if event is not published
- Voting: Export results if event is not published
- Voting: Can create, update, and delete polling stations if event is not yet published
- Voting: Start a new ballot box for an event if event is not published
- Voting: Create mail-in ballot box
- Voting: Can create a new voter, or update their information if event is not published
- Voting: Delete a voter if event is not published
- Voting: Mark a voter as voted if event is not published
- Voting: Record a note that has occurred either by a voter or to a voter
- Voting: Resend event related email to voter
- Voting: Can save a timeline document to a voting event
- Team Members: Can view a list of all team members in organization
- Team Members: Can invite, update, or delete a team member
- Team Members: Can change team members email notifications settings
- Membership: View a list of all members for their organization
- Membership: View details of a specific member
- Membership: Create and update a new member
- Membership: Delete a member, if member is not associated to any recorded voter events
- Membership: Can create, update, delete, or restore a membership property
- Membership: Create, change, delete, or restore deleted membership tag
- Membership: Record a note attached to a specific member
List Manager
The List Manager role has permissions manage all aspects of an organization’s membership list.
- Voting: Record a note that has occurred either by a voter or to a voter
- Voting: Resend event related email to voter
- Membership: View a list of all members for organization
- Membership: View details of a specific member
- Membership: Create and update a new member
- Membership: Create, change, delete, or restore deleted membership tag
- Membership: Record a note attached to a specific member
Electoral Officer
The Electoral Officer role has the necessary permissions to function as the lead official for a voting event. They can create and update voting events to which they are assigned, as well as manage ballots, polling stations, voter lists, input results, and more.
Enabled this role for your principal electoral official who will running the voting event and assisting any supporting (deputy) electoral officials.
- Voting: Can view an organizations voting events
- Voting: Can view a single voting event for which they are assigned to
- Voting: Can create and update details of voting events
- Voting: Can delete an event issue if in 'draft' or 'ready for voting' state
- Voting: Export voters list
- Voting: View PINs
- Voting: Publish and export event results
- Voting: Can acclaim event issue if assigned to event
- Voting: Can create, update, and delete polling stations
- Voting: Start a new ballot box if assigned to event, and event has not ended
- Voting: Create mail-in ballot box if assigned to event
- Voting: Can create a new voter, or update their information if assigned to event (voter must not have voted yet and event cannot be in finalized state)
- Voting: Delete a voter if assigned to event (voter must not have voted yet and event has not ended)
- Voting: Send an email to the voter with their voting access PIN, if currently assigned to a voting event
- Voting: Mark a voter as voted/not voted
- Voting: Mark voter as 'ballot packaged mailed' and 'voted by mail' for mail-in votes
- Voting: Record a note that has occurred either by a voter or to a voter, if assigned to event
- Voting: Resend event related email to voter if, if assigned to event
- Voting: Can save a timeline document to a voting event, if assigned to event
- Team Members: Can change email notifications settings for Deputy Electoral or Ratification Officers
- Membership: View a list of all members for organization, if currently assigned to a voting event
- Membership: View details of a specific member, if currently assigned to a voting event
- Membership: Create and update a new member, if currently assigned to a voting event
- Membership: Create, change, delete, or restore deleted membership tag, if currently assigned to a voting event
- Membership: Record a note attached to a specific member, if currently assigned to a voting event
Deputy Electoral Officer
The Deputy Electoral Officer role can manage some parts of a voting event to which they are assigned, including in-person polling functions, but has limited permissions compared to Electoral Officers.
This role is most often used for supporting electoral officials running physical polling stations. Limited voting permissions ensures the deputy cannot change event configuration settings or effect an event in a material way.

- Voting: Can update details of voting event created by an EO
- Voting: Can delete an event issue
- Voting: Export voters list

- Voting: Publish and export event results
- Voting: Can update or delete polling station created by EO

Mail-in Ballot Manager
This team role is set up to receive mail-in ballot requests from voters. They can view requests from all active voting events happening in their organization, view membership and voter information, as well as mark a voter as being sent a ballot package.
This team member is a deputy overseen by the principal electoral officer.
- Voting: Can view a list voting events where mail-in ballot request are enabled
- Voting: Can mark voter as 'ballot package mailed'
- Membership: View a list of all members for their organization
- Membership: View details of a specific member
Verification Officer
The Verification Officer role has the ability to view all documentation of a vote for verification purposes.
- Voting: Can view a single voting event for which they are assigned to
- Voting: View PINs
- Voting: Create mail-in ballot box
- Voting: Record a note that has occurred either by a voter or to a voter
- Membership: View details of a specific member, if currently assigned to a voting event
