You may be asked to confirm your OneFeather account (or to confirm your Nation membership) ahead of a voting event. To do so you will need to log in or sign up for a OneFeather account via the members web portal. It only take a few minutes to sign up and can be done easily from your mobile phone as long as you have wifi or data and can access the internet.
- Log in or sign up at members.onefeather.ca
- Once you have created your account and confirmed your email address, you will be asked a small amount of information about yourself to customize your OneFeather experience: Your preferred name, and your Indigenous Identity (your Indigenous peoples group). This allows us to show you services that are relevant to you.
- To 'confirm your account' is to confirm your membership to your Nation. You can do so by selecting Vote or Digital Voting from the home page.
- Before you can see any voting information, you will be prompted to Select your Nation and will need to enter your status/citizenship/membership number and date of birth.
Once your membership is confirmed successfully, you will now be able to see your Nation's current, upcoming, or past voting events. You will also automatically receive voting information to the email associated with your OneFeather account when a vote is coming up or currently live. This will include your voter PIN needed to vote digitally.
Occasionally our emails can end up in your junk/spam folder. To avoid missing voting information, add OneFeather to your email client's safe list.
Confirming your membership via My Communities
- Once you have signed up or logged into members.onefeather.ca, select the user menu in the top right corner of the page.
- Select My Communities from the menu.
- Select the red Add Nation / Community button
- Search for your Nation / Community / Band / Tribe / Tribal Council by name or by the first three digits of your status number (if applicable).
- Once you have found your community select Add Nation.
- You will be asked to put in your registry (status) number or citizenship number, and your date of birth. Select Confirm Membership to continue.
Your account is now confirmed and you are connected to your community! You will now be able to receive emails regarding your community and voting events, as well as vote in events you are eligible to participate in.
**Please Note: You can only be connected to one First Nation or Métis Nation at a time, however you can add the addition of a Tribal Council.
