Connecting to your community (Nation) will give you access to relevant voting events and services. Know that joining or leaving a community on OneFeather does not affect your actual membership with your Nation.

How to confirm your community membership
Membership not confirmed
Only some communities are active on OneFeather and use our services for voting and other services. You must be a member (as defined by the community) to access your relevant community services.
If you have added your community previously, you may need to confirm your membership before voting or using OneFeather services. A 'Confirm Membership' button will appear next to communities that require member confirmation. You will be asked to input personal information that will be matched with the information provided by your community.
- From the admin page, click the profile icon in the top right
- Click My Communities
- Underneath your community you wish to confirm, click Confirm Member.
- In the Registry Number or Membership Number box, enter your ten-digit registry number or your membership number
- In the Date of Birth dropdown, select your date of birth
- Click Confirm Membership
Once your membership is confirmed, you will see "Membership confirmed" underneath your community's name.
Membership confirmation not required
If you see that membership confirmation is not required for the community you have added, your community is not active on OneFeather, and we cannot confirm individual memberships.
We still suggest adding and staying connected to your community even if it is not active. It helps us provide more specific content and services relevant to you, like status card applications. Communities become active on OneFeather frequently, and yours may too.
Cannot find your community in the community list
We have pulled all the community names from the government of Canada. If you are unable to find your community in the community list, there are some other ways to find your community:
1. Try using an alternative name or spelling for your community
2. Try the first three digits of your status card number or Nation number
If you are still unable to find your community, please contact us, and we will help you find your community.
Multiple Communities
You may add only one First Nation or Métis Nation to your list of communities, corresponding to the Nation indicated on your status, membership, or citizenship card. Please note that you can be a confirmed member of only one First Nation or Métis Nation at any given time. If your Nation is associated with a Tribal Council, your membership will be inherited based on your primary Nation affiliation.
