How to change your guarantor
The most common issue experienced when trying to complete a status card application, is having to select a guarantor and then ensure they sign your application. It can require a little wrangling from the applicant in order for this process to get completed so we can submit your application to Indigenous Services Canada.
You may need to select another guarantor or have the email request sent again to the guarantor you've already chosen. Once you've logged in to your OneFeather account:
- Click Apply Now in the Status Card section of the home page
- Find your application near the top and select View
- From the Overview navigation panel in your application, choose Select a Guarantor
- Scroll down to find the Select a Guarantor section
- Select the Remove Guarantor button
- A pop up will appear, select Yes, Remove Request
- You may now select a new guarantor, or input your previously chosen guarantor's information again to resend the request email
- Let your guarantor know to watch for our email in the next few minutes in their inbox and junk/spam folder!
We strongly suggest reminding your guarantor to look for our email if they haven't signed your application within a few days. We will send both you and your guarantor reminder emails to completed their portion of your application.
Once they have completed the guarantor section, we can digitally submit your application to Indigenous Services Canada.
