With OneFeather you can apply for as many dependants that are in your care as long as they fit our current requirements of what we are able to support for status card applications. There will be a short questionnaire before the application that will determine if our application is right for you.
The card your dependant will receive from our application is a government-issued Secure Certificate of Indian Status ('SCIS',white plastic card) and lasts 5 years (for children/adult dependents) before it will need to be renewed.
At OneFeather, we help you complete your applications and Indigenous Services Canada processes that processes it and issues to the card directly to the mailing address you have provided in your application.

Dependant applications we currently support
We are working on supporting more situations related to dependant status card applications. Currently we are able to support:
- Child dependants between the ages of 4-15.
Baby/toddler applications for children 3 and under are not currently available but are on our radar for a future release. - Dependent adults* (ages 16+)
*A dependent adult is defined as a person who may have a mental/physical limitation and depends on assistance to carry out regular activities, obtain services, as well as access and protect their rights. - Both guardian and dependant must have their own individual status numbers
- Dependant's name has not legally changed since their last status card.
- Parent/Guardian's name has not changed recently and matches the photo ID they provide with the dependant's application.
We are always improving our services at OneFeather, watch for future improvements as our self-serve status card application service evolves.
Children living at home older than 16
If you have a child 16 years of age or older living at home, they are considered an adult by Indigenous Services Canada and can apply using the Adult SCIS (16+) application via their own OneFeather account.
