Publishing your voting event is required in order for the system to run the event. By configuring the voting event and publishing in advance of the opening date, you allow voters to access important details about when and how to vote.
Publishing a voting event allows several things to take place:
- Information about the voting event becomes publicly available on the community's OneFeather page (for eg. www.onefeather.ca/nations/NATIONNAME) and makes it discoverable on the OneFeather voting events list page.
- It allows the OneFeather system to notify all eligible members (who have a confirmed OneFeather account) about the voting event 5 days before it's opening date and time, or immediately if within 5 days of opening date and time.
- It allows the event to go live and run at the configured opening date and time.
On this page:

What If I Forget to Publish the Voting Event?
If you forget to publish the event before it is scheduled to begin, the voting event will not be able to open. However, you can still publish the event immediately, even if it has already reached or passed the designated start date and time.
